Copilot for The Office · Hands-On Workshops

A 200-person team is burning A$100,000 a year on a tool nobody uses.

That's the number CFOs are quietly asking about. My workshops turn idle Copilot licences into real output — reports, dashboards, even small internal tools. Inside your M365 tenant. Data stays in Australia.

The Shelfware Problem

Most people never actually use their Copilot.

Independent benchmarks show the gap between Copilot being rolled out and Copilot being used.

35.8% of licensed Copilot users actively use it Stackmatix, 2026

Run the Numbers

What's your Copilot actually costing you?

Copilot costs roughly A$44–A$49 per user per month incl. GST. Every untouched licence is that, every month, until the renewal.

Your annual Copilot bill A$105,600

If nobody's using it, that's the waste.

The Gap

Licences paid for. Productivity unchanged.

The tools are already on every desk. The enablement isn't. And the gap is costing you more every week.

01 — Idle Investment

Expensive licences sitting idle

Copilot or Claude is rolled out. Most staff only use it to summarise emails — the same job Outlook already does.

02 — Drowning Teams

Teams buried in work AI could handle

Reports, briefs, status updates, data pulls — all taking hours or days when the tool on their laptop could finish them in minutes.

03 — Unclear On How

Aware of AI, unsure how to use it

They've heard the hype. Tried ChatGPT once. Nobody has shown them how to apply it to their actual work.

Why This Works

Your Copilot rollout isn't failing because of the tool. I've watched this pattern a hundred times.

"The tool collects dust. Not because your people don't care — because nobody ever sat with them on their real work. Same pattern. Every time."

Abdul Khan Founder · AIYND

I've spent 25 years inside the organisations rolling out this software — QBE global, AMP, Sydney Airport, UTS, NSW Health, Icon Water, three NSW Government departments. I've sat in the procurement meetings. I've run the adoption programs. At Microsoft, I was the Information Worker Specialist — the role that sells the exact tools your team is now failing to use.

The tool isn't the problem. Generic training isn't the problem. The problem is nobody ever sits with your analyst on their actual documents and shows them how to build the thing they need. So that's what I do. Your real files. Your real output. Before your team leaves the room.

Why This Is Different

We don't teach prompts. We install ways of working.

Prompts are free. Anyone can Google them. Every other workshop on the market is selling the same commodity — a list of things to type into ChatGPT.

That's not what's keeping your team on the old way of doing things.

The gap is judgment. Which recurring tasks in your team's week should become AI workflows. How to stitch AI into the tools they already use. When to trust the output and when to push back.

Judgment only comes from doing it. On your work. With someone who's done it a hundred times.

That's the only thing worth paying for.

Australia, Right Now

84% of your people are already using AI. Only 7% know how.

The RMIT / Deloitte Ready, Set, AI? report (covered by 7NEWS in April 2026) puts hard numbers on the gap every Australian L&D lead is feeling.

84% of Australian employees use AI every day RMIT · Deloitte (via 7NEWS)
7% are AI-proficient RMIT · Deloitte (via 7NEWS)
5M Australian workers classified as "AI beginners" RMIT · Deloitte (via 7NEWS)
+A$19B to the AU economy if half upgrade beginner → intermediate RMIT · Deloitte (via 7NEWS)

Every worker you train is worth A$7,000 more per year. 1 in 3 are already worried AI will replace them. Train them. Or lose them.

Two Tracks, One Outcome

Your team learns on the AI you already pay for.

No new software. No new licences. Pick the track that matches whatever's already on your team's laptop.

The Plan

Three steps. Real output by lunch.

01

Book a scoping call

A 15-minute call to understand your team, your tools and the kinds of work you actually do. No pitch deck.

02

We tailor the session

I build the workshop around your real documents, real templates and the tasks your team already dreads. Not generic demos.

03

Your team ships output

They walk in unsure, walk out having produced briefs, reports and dashboards — on their own work, with the tool you've already paid for.

What They Walk Out With

Real deliverables. Not slide decks.

Every participant leaves the session with completed artefacts built on their actual work.

01

Executive brief

Generated from their own meeting notes or transcript.

02

Working dashboard

Built from a real CSV in the room — no analyst required.

03

Next week's report

The weekly report they'd normally spend two days on. Done.

04

RFP & SOW review

Hundreds of pages of vendor responses. AI reads them against your requirements and writes the decision brief — what's in, what's missing, what's risky.

05

Weekly AI workflows

5–10 ready-to-run workflows for the tasks they do every week.

06

Workflow template

A repeatable process for a task the team does every week.

For Government

Your data never leaves the compliance boundary.

  • Workshop runs inside your existing Copilot / M365 licence
  • Your data stays inside your tenant, aligned to your ISM / Essential 8 posture
  • No third-party AI tools introduced
  • Session materials delivered via SharePoint on request
  • Prior experience with NSW Gov, federal agencies and regulated clients
  • Happy to work with your IT and security teams before the session

FAQ

The questions procurement asks first.

Does the workshop work with our existing Copilot / M365 licences?

Yes — that's the point. I train on the tools you already own. If your team has Microsoft 365 Copilot, we use it. No extra licences, no new procurement.

Is this compliant for government and regulated sectors?

The Copilot track runs entirely inside your licensed M365 tenant. No data leaves your environment, no third-party AI tools are introduced. I've delivered it to NSW Gov teams. Happy to work with your IT and security functions on any additional reviews ahead of the session.

Do participants need any prior AI experience?

No. The workshop assumes zero prior experience. The only prerequisite is a laptop with access to their usual tools — Copilot, M365, or Claude — and a couple of real documents from their current work.

What's the difference between this and our internal L&D AI training?

Most internal training covers what AI is. This workshop is what AI does — on your team's actual work. Participants don't watch a demo; they build the outputs themselves before the session ends.

Can you deliver this onsite or only online?

Both. Onsite sessions work best for team cohesion and engagement. Online sessions are delivered live (not recorded) and structured to keep participation high.

What happens after the workshop?

Every participant leaves with 5–10 AI workflows built around the tasks they do every week, plus the templates to run them. The Full Enablement Day tier includes 30 days of email follow-up. Enterprise Programs include ongoing coaching and champions support.

How do we get started?

Book a 15-minute scoping call using the form below. We'll discuss your team, your tools, and the outcomes you want — then confirm format, date and pricing.

Does our Copilot data stay in Australia?

Yes. As of November 2025, Microsoft offers in-country data processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Australia. Workshop participants work inside your M365 tenant, so prompts, responses and documents stay within Australian geography — aligned to your existing sovereignty posture.

If Nothing Changes

The cost of doing nothing this quarter.

01

The shelfware keeps renewing.

Another year of A$44–49 per user per month, auto-renewed. The CFO will eventually ask. Have an answer ready.

02

Shadow AI fills the vacuum.

Staff who want to use AI will paste your documents into free tools. You'll find out via an audit, not a decision.

03

Your best people leave first.

High performers go where the tools work. "AI-forward employer" is already a filter on their next job search.
